Gravytrain Penalty shoot out continued…

September 18, 2008

The Ball didn’t come down on the pitch, let’s just leave it at that…. No actually lets expand on that slightly…. The Ball came down just over the other side of the A3.

At first we were all shocked. We knew he couldn’t kick a ball to save his life but this was just ridiculous! The immediate shock soon turned into laughter, laughter so loud it could be heard be heard from the other side of the A3.

The penalty shoot out was called off for fear of the remaining participants being put off by the actions of one player.

Richard’s Penalty…. continued

September 16, 2008

Richard pointed at the top corner and yelled “watch this!” as he ran up to take the penalty. He smashed the ball with his right foot and it soared high into the air towards the corner flag. The 40foot net surrounding the pitch was dwarfed by the sheer height that the ball reached.

Stay tuned for the rest of the story….. does the ball come back down? Does Bunce end up scoring the penalty?… probably not but come back and read the rest of the story if you want a laugh.

Penalty Shoot out competition – true story.

September 12, 2008

Today the team decided to run an in-house penalty shoot out competition in order to establish who is going to be our chief penalty taker. The competition was simple … whoever scores the most out of their 5 penalties wins.

Ryan stepped up to take his 1st penalty and slotted it nicely in the bottom corner. Will was next, his finishing was equally as clinical and he too put it in the bottom corner sending Andrew the wrong way.

The final penalty taker was Richard. He picked up the ball and appraoched the penalty spot chuckling to himself arrogantly. Before taking his penalty he insisted on doing three laps of honour to celebrate the goal he was about to score. After doing so he took his shirt off and threw it into the crowd. Finally he was ready to take his penalty – Stay tuned to find out what happens next…

GT mimic England success

September 11, 2008

A great goal from Rob and a superb hatrick from Ryan sealed the team’s big win over local rivals. It was a close game, 1 a piece at the end of the first half. The second half saw one of the opposition sent off for a harsh challenge – an incident which would prove to be decisive in this closely fought match. The extra man made game very one sided and within 10mins we were ahead by two. Final score 4 -1.

Even Stevens

September 1, 2008

This week the team did well in their first match back in more than 3 weeks – After going 3 – 0 down in the first half the Gravytrain limited team managed to bring the score level with 5 mins to go. Great saves from Andrew in the final minutes kept the score even and gravytrain in the game. Unfortunately they were unable to convert the few opportunities they had in the dying seconds and the score remained level.  Final score 3 - 3.
